Here's what customers say about our Mobile EV Battery Health Check service, in their own words.
Great service from dual action roadside. Arrived quickly and was friendly and professional. Absolutely recommend if you’re around the Watford/ Hemel area. Thank you!!
Ray fixed my non-starting car within two hours of calling him, at a price that easily beat other competitors. He gave me clear and honest advice, even helping me to avoid paying for car parts which I didn’t need. I highly recommend Ray to help you get back on the road.
Ray is an absolute legend, was there 10 minutes early, sorted my flat battery and tires and gave me some sound advice for upkeeping the motor. Refreshing to see honest working men still exist! If you need any roadside assistance with your car, don’t bother with any other time wasters, Ray’s your man!

What's Included With Every Mobile EV Battery Health Check
Mobile EV Battery Health Check in Watford
Your EV's high-voltage battery is one of the most important parts of the car, especially if you are buying, selling, or trying to understand changes in range. I can come to you and carry out a scheduled AVILOO FLASH battery health check where the vehicle is supported.
I connect suitable AVILOO equipment to the vehicle and run the stationary traction-battery test. The battery information is analysed by AVILOO, and after a successful test, you receive a digital AVILOO Battery Certificate.
The certificate can show useful battery health information such as State of Health, cell-level findings, comparison data, and range information where available. I will explain the main result in plain English, including what it does and does not mean.
This service checks the high-voltage traction battery. It is not a 12-volt battery test, full EV inspection, mechanical inspection, battery repair, or guarantee of future battery performance.
- Mobile attendance within the standard service area, subject to postcode confirmation.
- Vehicle compatibility check before the appointment is confirmed.
- Connection of suitable AVILOO equipment to a supported vehicle.
- AVILOO FLASH stationary traction-battery test.
- Battery information analysed by AVILOO.
- Official digital AVILOO Battery Certificate issued by AVILOO after a successful test.
- State of Health information where provided.
- Cell-level findings or heatmap where provided.
- Comparison and range information where available.
- A plain-English explanation from Ray of the main result and what it does and does not mean.

Before You Book — Things to Check
A few quick checks before you call can save you time and money. Run through these first.
Do you have the vehicle details?
You will need the vehicle registration, make, model and year so Ray can check compatibility before confirming.
Can you provide the appointment postcode?
Dual Action Roadside covers its standard 10-mile service area around Watford, subject to postcode confirmation.
Do you have permission?
You must own the vehicle or have permission from the owner, seller or dealer to request the check.
Will the vehicle be present and accessible?
The vehicle must be at the agreed address, accessible, and able to be unlocked at the appointment time.
Can you follow preparation instructions?
Any vehicle-specific preparation instructions provided when the appointment is confirmed must be followed.
Do you need a traction-battery check?
This service checks the high-voltage traction battery where supported, not the ordinary 12-volt auxiliary battery.
Do you understand the request is provisional?
The appointment is not confirmed until Ray has checked compatibility, postcode and availability.
Common Questions
Everything you need to know before you request an appointment.
How much does the EV Battery Health Check cost?
The Mobile EV Battery Health Check costs £99 for a successful test within Dual Action Roadside's standard service area.
What is included in the £99 price?
The £99 includes mobile attendance within the standard area, compatibility checked before confirmation, the AVILOO FLASH traction-battery test where the vehicle is supported, AVILOO analysis, a digital AVILOO Battery Certificate after a successful test, and Ray's plain-English explanation.
What area do you cover?
Dual Action Roadside is based in Watford, Hertfordshire and covers its existing 10-mile service area around Watford. Your appointment postcode is checked before Ray confirms attendance.
How long does the test take?
The AVILOO FLASH stationary test normally takes approximately three minutes, according to supplier research. The appointment may take longer because Ray needs to attend, check access, connect equipment and explain the result.
Is the appointment confirmed when I submit the form?
No. Submitting the form requests an appointment. It is not confirmed until Ray has checked vehicle compatibility, postcode and availability.
Which EVs can you test?
The service is for supported fully electric vehicles. Ray must check compatibility before confirming because not every EV, model or variant is automatically supported.
Can you test plug-in hybrid vehicles?
Supported plug-in hybrid vehicles may be eligible. Compatibility must be checked before confirmation, so please provide the registration, make, model and year.
What information do you need to check compatibility?
Ray will normally need the vehicle registration, make, model, year and whether it is fully electric or plug-in hybrid.
What does State of Health mean?
State of Health describes the current condition of the high-voltage traction battery compared with its expected usable condition. It is different from State of Charge, which is simply how full the battery is.
What does the AVILOO certificate show?
The certificate may show State of Health, usable battery information, cell-level findings, a heatmap, comparison data, range information and digital verification where provided. The exact fields can vary by vehicle and test result.
Who issues the certificate?
The digital Battery Certificate is issued by AVILOO after a successful test. Dual Action Roadside does not issue, edit or underwrite the certificate.
Does the check predict how long the battery will last?
No. The check is a snapshot of traction-battery condition at the time of testing. It does not predict remaining lifespan or guarantee future performance.
Is this a complete EV inspection?
No. It is a traction-battery health check. It is not a complete EV inspection, mechanical inspection, safety inspection or substitute for manufacturer diagnostics.
Does it inspect the battery physically?
No. The service does not include dismantling, physical battery inspection or high-voltage safety inspection.
Does it test the 12-volt battery?
No. This £99 service checks the high-voltage traction battery where the vehicle is supported. Ordinary 12-volt battery jump starts and replacements are separate Dual Action Roadside services.
Can you test a car before I buy it?
Yes, where the vehicle is supported, the postcode is within range, and the seller or dealer has authorised access. It is best to request the check before completing the purchase.
Can a seller arrange a test?
Yes. A private seller can request a test to provide clearer information to prospective buyers, subject to compatibility, postcode, access and appointment availability.
Why has my EV's range dropped?
Range can change because of temperature, weather, driving style, speed, tyre pressure, heating use, software and battery condition. The test can report battery condition at that time, but it does not diagnose every possible range issue.
Is a battery warranty included?
Qualifying tests may include a separate AVILOO Battery Warranty, subject to vehicle eligibility and AVILOO's terms and conditions. It is not guaranteed with every test and is not supplied or underwritten by Dual Action Roadside.
When do I pay?
Payment is made on the day after the test has been completed successfully. No payment details are collected in the online appointment request.
What if the vehicle is unsupported?
If the test cannot be completed because the vehicle is not supported or the available equipment is unsuitable, the £99 test fee will not be charged.
What happens if the test cannot be completed?
If the test cannot be completed because the vehicle is unsupported or the equipment is unsuitable, the £99 test fee will not be charged. A callout charge may apply if the supplied details were materially incorrect, access was not authorised, or the vehicle was unavailable or inaccessible.
Are Saturday appointments available?
Saturday appointments may be available by prior arrangement. They are not guaranteed and must be confirmed by Ray.
Is the EV service available 24/7?
No. Scheduled EV battery checks are normally Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00, with Saturday by prior arrangement. Sunday is closed for scheduled EV checks. Roadside assistance is a separate 24/7 service.
How do I cancel or rearrange?
You can cancel or rearrange your appointment without charge by giving at least 24 hours' notice. A callout charge may apply to late cancellations or where the vehicle is unavailable or inaccessible when Ray attends. Any applicable charge will be explained before the appointment is confirmed.
