Fault Code Reading And Diagnostics Service

What's Included With Every Mobile Vehicle Fault Code Reading & Diagnostics Service

A dashboard warning light can mean anything from a minor sensor glitch to something that needs urgent attention.

The problem is, without reading the fault codes, you can't tell which and garages often charge a diagnostic fee before they'll even look at it. I come to your location at home, at work, or wherever the vehicle is, connect professional diagnostic equipment to your vehicle's OBD port, and read every fault code the system has stored.

I explain what each code means in plain English, what triggered it, and what the realistic options are. Having worked in the roadside recovery industry for over 10 years including coordinating recovery operations across national provider networks , I've seen the full range of faults that leave drivers stranded or uncertain.

I know the difference between a fault that needs same-day attention and one that can safely wait until your next service. This service doesn't include mechanical repairs, it's a diagnostic and information service. The value is knowing exactly what you're dealing with before you commit to any repair work. That knowledge can save you money at a garage and help you make an informed decision. Covers all OBD-II compatible vehicles, the vast majority of cars and light vans manufactured after 2001. Available Monday to Sunday, 08:00–20:00.

  • Full OBD-II diagnostic scan — all fault codes read across all vehicle systems
  • Fault code clearing where appropriate — to confirm whether the fault returns
  • Written summary of fault codes and findings provided on request
  • Up to 30 Mins On Scene Time

Before You Book — Things to Check

A few quick checks before you call can save you time and money. Run through these first.

Is the warning light still on, or has it gone out?

If the light has cleared itself, the fault may be stored as a historical code rather than an active fault. I can still read it , historical codes are just as useful for diagnosis. Let me know when you call.

Are multiple warning lights on at the same time?

Multiple lights appearing together often points to a single root cause a battery voltage issue, for example, can trigger several systems simultaneously. Don't assume you have multiple separate faults let the scan tell the story.

Has the car been recently serviced or had any work done?

Recent work can sometimes trigger fault codes a disconnected sensor, a software update, or a component reset. Knowing what work was done recently helps me interpret the codes more accurately.

Has the fault code been cleared before without fixing the fault?

If the light keeps coming back after being cleared, that's an important pattern. Let me know when you call it changes how I approach the scan.

Is the vehicle driveable or are you stranded?

If the vehicle isn't safe to drive, call me before attempting to move it. Some fault conditions, brake system, steering, or transmission faults mean the car shouldn't be driven until the fault is understood
